7 Rules to Follow for a Fitter Lifestyle

Drink plenty of water




With our busy schedule, we often forget to get up from our seat and hydrate. Unfortunately, this is one of the reasons why we feel tired most of the time or that our skin appears dull and dry. With that being said, you need to drink up to 64 ounces of water daily to hydrate yourself.

Reconsider your diet

If you are aiming for a fitter lifestyle, then you have to reconsider your diet. From what you have been eating right now, you’re probably getting more calories in your body but less nutrients. Instead of sticking with processed foods, opt for healthier food choices like leafy greens, fruits, nuts, seeds, and whole grains.

Start a food journal

Another rule to consider if you want to start a fitter and healthier lifestyle is to start a food journal. Food journals are helpful for you to monitor the amount of calories that you are consuming, the type of food that you are eating, and so on. Writing down the food that you are eating on a daily basis will give you a much better idea on what you should eat less and which ones you should eat more of.
 



Get some sleep

And we are not talking about 3 to 4 hours of sleep but more of 8 hours of good sleep. Your body needs to rejuvenate and repair itself and it can only do so when you are at rest. With that being said, you need to make it a point to get some quality sleep daily.

Stop eating by 9 p.m

One way to avoid adding more pounds to your weight is to stop eating by 9 in the evening. This will help your body go into a fasting state where it will turn to the excess fats stored in your body as source of energy.

Learn to relax

Stress plays a role in our life whether we like it or not. It’s how we manage it that can mean the difference. If you want to stay fit, you need to find a way to release it. Fortunately, there are quite a number of ways for you to do just that such as meditation, yoga, or, if you want a more aggressive approach, try boxing.




Be social

Humans need to socialize. It is an inherent trade in them. Socializing can actually help reduce the amount of stress that you are feeling plus it will help you become fitter too because you are able to relax and enjoy your time with them.
